Family History of Antisocial Behavior

The “Family History of Antisocial Behavior” measure prompts participants to estimate whether their family members have engaged in a range of antisocial behavior including drug use, drug distribution, and robbery, etc.

This measure is from the Communities that Care Youth Survey, which assesses the incidence and prevalence of substance use, delinquency, and related problem behaviors. It also measures the risk and protective factors that predict substance use, delinquency, and problem behaviors in communities.

Sample items:
“Has anyone in your family ever had a severe alcohol or drug problem?”
“About how many adults (over 21) have you known personally who in the past year have: used marijuana, crack, cocaine, or other drugs?”

Number of items: 10
