Behaviors that result in unintentional injuries and violence

The “Behaviors that Result in Unintentional Injuries and Violence” measure prompts participants to report how often they engage in behaviors that may be risky and cause harm.

This measure is from the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System, which monitors six types of health-risk behaviors that contribute to causes of death and disability among youth and young adults.

Sample item: “During the past 30 days, how many times did you ride in a car or other vehicle driven by someone who had been drinking alcohol?”

Number of items: 19
