Moderation Management
Moderation Management is a complementary online intervention designed for nondependent, heavy-drinking adults who want to reduce the number of days on which they drink, their peak alcohol use on days they drink, and their alcohol-related problems. ModerateDrinking.com (MD) is a Web-based behavioral self-control skills training program, and Moderation Management (MM) is an online support group network. MM offers online and face-to-face mutual support meetings, a listserv, and an online forum connect concerned drinkers trying to make positive lifestyle changes. The overall goals are alcohol abstinence and a decrease in alcohol-related problems and peak alcohol use on drinking days.
Team Awareness
Team Awareness is a workplace-based prevention training program that addresses behavioral risks associated with substance abuse among employees, their coworkers, and, indirectly, their families. The interactive training focuses on six components: the importance of substance abuse prevention; team ownership of policy, stress and coping styles, tolerance and how it can become a risk factor for groups; the importance of appropriate help-seeking and help-giving behavior; and access to resources for preventive counseling or treatment. The overall goal is to improve group climate, understanding of substance use policies, and help-seeking attitudes and behaviors, while reducing alcohol and drug use attitudes, use, and related problems.
Recovery Training and Self-Help
Recovery Training and Self-Help (RTSH) is a group aftercare program for individuals recovering from opioid addiction. A professional therapist and a group leader co-lead participants through a program designed to deactivate addiction by teaching and supporting alternative responses to stimuli previously associated with opioid use. The overall goal is abstinence.
PRIME For Life
PRIME for Life (PFL) is a motivational intervention for adults, and has been used primarily among court-referred impaired driving offenders. Trained instructors use multimedia, guided instruction, and motivational interviewing techniques to increase participant motivation to change their perceptions of the risks of drug and alcohol use. The overall goals are to reduce risk of alcoholism or addiction, reduce intention to use substances, and reduce substance use-related crimes or delinquency.
Healthy Workplace
Healthy workplace is a workplace-based substance abuse prevention program designed for adults who are not substance-dependent. Small group sessions with video and print materials cover topics such as unsafe drinking, illegal drug use, prescription drug use, and healthy lifestyle practices. The overall goal is for employees to increase healthy lifestyle behaviors while reducing or eliminating substance use.
