The National Survey of Parents and Youth is a survey conducted to evaluate the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. The survey measures drug-related attitudes and beliefs in children and parents.
The “Expected Drug Experience” measure asks students to predict their future drug use, and to report the good and bad things that can happen when using drugs.
Sample item: “How likely is it that you will use inhalants to get high, even once or twice over the next 12 months?”
“How likely is it that the following would happen to you if you used marijuana, even once or twice, over the next 12 months?: upset my parents, get in trouble with the law, lose control of myself…”
